A new addition

Sometimes there is a need for new things in our lives, which aren’t antiques. I’ve been saying this to Mr B for many months, pointing out that our large sofa (circa 1988) needed to be replaced. Permission is not required, but for the sake of marital harmony, one does likes to gain some sort of consensus. I had my eye on the Bluebell model from Sofa.com, but I could not bring myself to buy one at full price. Not because they aren’t worth every penny, but with three cats, two dogs and of course three children, I didn’t to want to worry about the odd over enthusiastic jump, temporary dog bed, cat scratching post or general knocks and bumps of family life. I found the wonderful Sofa.com Warehouse on ebay and watched and waited, whilst a two seat Bluebell went down and down in price. I lost my nerve at 50% and pressed the buy button!
The picture above, is how it looked, five minutes after the delivery men had left. Yes it is purple, but it works surprisingly well with manganese and blue delft tiles in the fireplace, the F&B Pelt colour paint on the bookshelves and the brown ticking of the curtains. As you can see we’ve put some Welsh blankets to good use. Now the problem is finding space to sit on it.
The other sofa, which will be replaced in time, looked like this last night! Perhaps I need to think about an armchair…
