Charlotte’s Locks wins out!

Wed. February 8, 2017

After many months of orange tester splodges on our Sudbury Yellow walls, my husband at last agreed to having the kitchen painted in Farrow & Ball’s, Charlotte’s Locks.  He loves it now, but initially he said ‘we’ve been Tango’d!’  We both chuckled.  The children looked us blankly.  Clearly it is an outdated reference to a drink which they have on special occasions.  So here it is, the finished colour.  I love it – it’s warm, cheerful with a slight retro feel and isn’t at all dark, as my husband feared it would be.  Best of all it allows our collection of folk art, pottery, pictures and furniture to contrast with an opportunity to stand out.  As soon as everything was back in place, I remembered that the background colours for the 2015 TATE folk art exhibition were similarly bold yellow’s, blue’s and oranges.
