Dinefwr Bluebells
Tue. May 6, 2014
We spent our bank holiday Monday in pursuit of bluebells. Dinefwr on the outskirts of Llandeilo provides a steep’ish walk up a hill to a wonderful (broken, as our children call any old castle without a roof) Welsh castle, once the centre of the Kingdom of Deheubarth, until mean old Edward I destroyed the power of the Welsh Princes. Any way, the woods below the castle provide an excellent spot to look at bluebells and smell the air. See below.
Three Welsh rebels on the walls of Dinefwr:-
Topped the day off by bumping into Wynne and Eira Jenkins who were also enjoying bluebells and who stood the Bowen’s a round of ice creams – diolch!
