Hedd Wyn’s home saved for the nation
Thu. March 15, 2012
We were delighted at the news that the home of Hedd Wyn, the poet who won the chair at the National Eisteddfod in 1917 just a few weeks after his death on the First World War battlefields, Yr Ysgwrn in Trawsfynydd, and contents of bardic chairs has been saved for the Welsh nation. We were particularly proud that Tim Bowen Antiques were involved in the valuation of the contents including the bardic chairs. The house was secured with grants from the Welsh Government and the National Heritage Memorial Fund (NHMF), and will be looked after by the Snowdonia National Park Authority. The house is open by appointment.
