A Lovely Welsh colliers brass ‘twist’ box, which has been beautiful engraved with an ivy leaf design, which has been infilled with red sealing wax. Engraved with owners name T.J.Jones, 7 Albert St, Aberayon & dated 1922.

Twist was a name given for chewing tobacco, many coal miners chewed twist underground, as smoking was prohibited. It was thought to help keep the mouth moist in the dusty conditions.
