A wonderful 18th or early 19th century polished iron adjustable saw-tooth pot hanger or trammel with elaborate decoration.

Pot hangers were used for hanging pots or kettles above the fire. The teeth allowed for the height of the hook to be adjusted either closer or further away from the heat.
