An 18th/19th century oak Riddle board. Made from two sections of oak with natural shrinkage and held together with the original battens to the reverse. The whole front surface with diagonally scored lines.
Wonderful surface and untouched colour.
The Riddle board is usually found in Northen England or Scotland and was used in the making of Oatbread or Oatcakes. (See below)
