A Victorian hinged ‘nose-band’ horse brass, engraved ‘Evans Maker Talley’.

Thomas Evans of Talley in Carmarthenshire is recored as a Saddler & Harness maker in the 1875 Worrall’s trade directory of South Wales.

The hinged noseband was fixed to a piece of leather which went over the horses nose. They were often engraved with the saddle makers name & town or village.
